Сегодня, ребята, мы с вами узнаем много нового. Мы научимся говорить о предметах, которые находятся на разном расстоянии, узнаем местоимения «это и то», повторим слова и буквы, которые мы выучили.

Но сначала давайте потренируем наши язычки. Посмотрите, кто это?

• А знаете ли вы, как его зовут?
• Его зовут Вилли, послушайте, как он провёл утро и вместе потренируем наши язычки.
•  Наш мишка не любит рано вставать, и когда его будит мама, он говорит
•  .

Но мама его наконец — то разбудила, встал он, посмотрел в окошко — а там ничего не видно! На улице был мороз, и окошко замёрзло, и стал он дуть .

Увидел своих друзей и закричал им . Но мама попросила его сначала убраться дома.  Вили взял коврик и пошел его выбивать

Затем взял другой коврик и стал выбивать его . Проголодался наш Вилли и полез в холодильник, а там только одно яблоко и стал он его кушать   .

This, that, these, those

Очень часто студенты даже среднего уровня владения английским языком путают указательные местоимения this, that, these, those, что есть типичной ошибкой. Особенно, когда нужно перевести предложения с этими местоимениями с родного языка на английский. Эти четыре слова можно классифицировать по 2 критериям: расстояние и число. Сначала о расстоянии.

В представленной ниже таблице Вы видите, что слова this и these употребляются, когда речь идет о людях или предметах, расположенных близко к говорящему.

Например, this magazine (этот журнал), these magazines (эти журналы). В то время как that и those —  о людях или предметах, расположенных вдали, вдалеке от говорящего.

Например, that picture (та картина), those pictures (те картины). Теперь о числе (sg. — the singular — единственное число, pl. — plural — множественное число).

Местоимения this и that употребляются с существительными в единственном числе — this pear (эта груша), that pear (та груша),  а these и those — во множественном  — these pears (эти груши), those pears (те груши).

Особое внимание нужно обратить на произношение указательных местоимений this и these. Эти два звука очень похожи

Сравните их обязательно, прослушав прям в блоге, а теперь повторите несколько раз, чтобы почувствовать разницу между («ы») и (как «и» в слове «иглы»).

Помните, что после местоимений these и those необходимо ставить существительное во множественное число, добавив окончание -s или -es (these shops, those benches).

Думаю, все отлично справились с этим несложным заданием.

Тогда, как бы Вы сказали на английском такое предложение (заметьте, НЕ словосочетание): «Это отель, а то — ресторан»? Правильно, после слов this и that употребляем глагол to be в единственном числе: «This is a hotel, and that is a restaurant.

» Скажите про отель и ресторан во множественном числе. Должно быть так: «These are hotels, and those are reataurants.» — глагол to be во множественном числе (Это отели, а то рестораны.)

Вопросы с this, that, these, those

И, последний важный момент на тему this, that, these, those — вопросы. Прежде, чем спросить на английском «Что это?», определите, единственное или множественное существительное будет в ответе.

Поскольку Ваш вопрос и ответ должны совпадать по числу.

Например, если на тарелке лежит несколько яблок, то вопрос «Что это?» будет звучать: «What are these?», а не «What’s this?», потому что ответом будет: «These are apples.»

1. — Что это? — Это монеты.
2. — Что это? — Это ключ.
3. — Что то (там)? — То конфета.
4. — Что то (там)? — То мячи.

Указательные местоимения this, these в английском языке

This указывает на предмет (ед. число), который находится в непосредственной близости от говорящего. То есть, если предмет находится так близко, что мы можем до него дотянутся рукой, то в таком случае используется местоимение this.

This is a pan. — Эта ручка. Например в данный момент я держу эту ручку у себя в руках.

This is a book. — Эта книга. Книга лежит на столе в непосредственной близости от нас(я могу до нее дотянуться и взять в руки).

These указывает на предметы (мн. число), которые находятся в непосредственной близости от говорящего.

These are pans. — Эти ручки.

These are books. — Эти книги.

Выражаем свои эмоции к чему-либо

Указательные местоимения в английском отлично подойдут, если мы хотим поделиться своими ощущениями или рассказать, что вызывает у нас разные эмоции. Конечно, есть и более экспрессивные способы сказать, что вас что-то жутко бесит или невероятно радует, но уместно это бывает не всегда. А вот местоимения универсальны!

То, что вызывает негативные эмоции	that/those
То, что вызывает положительные эмоции или не вызывает никаких (нейтральное отношение)	this/these

Примеры

• This lipstick really suits you, you look very elegant with it! — Эта помада тебе очень идет, с ней ты выглядишь очень нарядно!
• I love these flowers on the wallpaper. They make your room so cozy! — Мне нравятся эти цветы на обоях. Они делают твою комнату очень уютной!
• So where are you going to put that disgusting coffee? — Ну и куда ты собираешься деть этот отвратительный кофе?
• I threw away those old boots, I’m already tired of them. — Я выкинула те старые сапоги, они мне уже надоели.

Усиляем значение прилагательных и наречий

Иногда мы хотим подчеркнуть значимость каких-то слов в своей речи. Чаще всего в английском для усиления мы используем частицу so, но, оказывается, ее можно разнообразить и заменить указательными местоимениями. Чаще всего к этому прибегают в разговорной речи.

Деления по смыслу здесь нет — можно использовать любые указательные местоимения как с прилагательными, так и с наречиями.

Примеры

• I didn’t think it was this hot outside. — Я не думала, что на улице так жарко.
• Your sweater is that beautiful, I want the same. — Твой свитер такой красивый, я хочу себе такой же.

Избегаем тавтологии

Еще одна популярная функция указательных местоимений в английском — борьба с тавтологией. С их помощью речь становится разнообразнее и приятнее на слух — собеседник (особенно если это ваш преподаватель) будет в восторге!

Примеры

• The best food is that is cooked with passion. — Самая вкусная еда та, что приготовлена с душой. (that = the food)
• The best friends are those who stay with you in difficult times. — Самые лучшие друзья те, что остаются с тобой в трудную минуту. (those = the friends)

Важно запомнить

Если мы хотим заменить название одушевленного существа в единственном числе, нужно использовать не указательные местоимения, а конструкцию the one.

— Have you seen Mr Jones?
— The one who lives in apartment 51? (the one = Mr Jones)
— Вы видели мистера Джонса?
— Того, который живет в 51-й квартире?

Используем устойчивые словосочетания

Иногда указательные местоимения в английском языке не играют какой-то определенной роли в предложении, а являются частью устойчивых выражений — коротких и очень удобных. Их просто нужно запомнить:

• and all that — и все прочее
• that’s all right — все в порядке
• that’s all — на этом все
• that’s right — верно
• that’s it — вот именно
• that’s why — вот почему

Примеры

• By the holiday we need to buy a cake, candles, decorations and all that. — К празднику нам нужно купить торт, свечи, украшения и все прочее.
• Alex, send all documents to our partners and bring me coffee. That’s all. — Алекс, отправь все документы нашим партнерам и принеси мне кофе. На этом все.
